Quick answer

Typical early planning ranges

These examples cover kitchen products and a normal standard dry-fit allowance. They are intentionally broad because size and specification can move a project between bands.

Simple / entry specification€8,000–€15,000

Usually a smaller layout, standard cabinetry, laminate worktop and a basic appliance package.

Mid-range€15,000–€30,000

Often a larger L- or U-shaped kitchen, better cabinet finish, quartz worktop and quality appliances.

Made to order / premium€30,000–€50,000+

Larger kitchens, islands, custom sizes, in-frame construction, premium stone and higher-specification appliances.

Cabinetry price signals

Cabinetry is best compared by a clearly defined metre of run, then adjusted for tall housings, islands, drawers and specialist storage. The figures below include normal VAT and are planning allowances rather than retailer price promises.

Category2026 planning allowanceWhat it means
Flat pack / DIY€750–€1,175 per metreStandard to designer cabinetry, depending on door style and finish.
National showroom€1,050–€1,700 per metreStandard to designer ranges before specialist storage and unusually tall runs.
Local kitchen company€1,200–€2,000 per metreStandard to designer supply, with local design and manufacturing input varying by company.
Made to order / bespoke€2,400–€4,800 per metreLocal-company made-to-order through true bespoke and in-frame construction.

Worktop allowances

Stone prices include a normal allowance for templating, fabrication and fitting. Premium edges, waterfall ends, full-height splashbacks and unusual joins cost extra.

Quartzabout €675 per metreAllow about €450 extra per job for normal templating and fabrication.
Premium stone / porcelainabout €875 per metreMaterial, slab yield, edges, joins and cut-outs can move this materially.

Four-appliance package example

This example uses one induction hob, one single oven, one full-height fridge and one dishwasher. Every appliance in the calculator is priced individually, so your package may be different.

Premiumabout €6,050Higher-specification models and premium-brand allowances.

How location changes the estimate

National and flat-pack cabinet prices are broadly national. County differences should mainly affect labour, travel and delivery rather than every product line.

The current model uses deliberately restrained fitting adjustments: approximately +8% in Dublin, +4% in Cork and Wicklow, and down to -6% in Donegal. These percentages apply to the fitting allowance, not the whole project.

Rural travel or delivery can offset a lower local labour rate, so a final quotation should show those charges clearly.

What is not included

Plumbing, electrical and gas work, flooring, tiling, plastering, decorating, structural and other building work, removal and moving services are excluded unless a supplier quotation expressly includes them.

Questions homeowners ask

Is this a quotation?

No. These are broad 2026 planning benchmarks. A final quotation depends on surveyed measurements, cabinet schedules, named products and site conditions.

What usually changes the price most?

Kitchen size, cabinet construction, drawer and tall-unit content, an island, worktop fabrication, appliance choices and fitting scope normally matter more than colour alone.

Does the guide include building work?

No. Plumbing, electrical and gas work, flooring, tiling, plastering, decorating, structural work and removal are outside these kitchen supply and standard dry-fit examples.
